We measure almost everything when it comes to energy. The stock prices, the number of wind farms, Kilowatt-hours, and thermal gradients in many decimals. Figures and statistics provide insight into why we need to stay below 1.5 degrees of global warming. Years of calculations and excellent publications from climate scientists have brought us here. We now agree that we will have to shape the transition to sustainable energy worldwide. Thanks to data, and thanks to the measurement, analysis and interpretation of this data.
The need for the energy transition and SDG7 are crystal clear. How we are going to get there, we are passionately calculating. Who will make it happen? We don’t know. We don’t measure. No data.
There is no data that provides insight into the diversity of the people who are shaping the energy transition. We will be short of hands anyway, it cannot go fast enough. Every year, every degree counts. For all of us. It is all hands on deck in this transition.
